From October 1 through May 31, Striped Bass must be at least 21 inches to keep.Lake fishing in a man-made lake or reservoir means focusing your efforts around drop-offs, creek edges, and ledges. A particularly popular spot on Lake Murray is around the 5 towers near the Dam.
When lake fishing in a man-made reservoir or pit for largemouth bass, use baits or lures that can be worked on the bottom near ledges or drop-offs. Soft-plastic worms, lizards, and jerkbaits are all good baits to try.
Lake Murray is proud to offer the Fishing Tackle Loaner program. Visit our friends at Dreher Island State Park to loan you everything you need to fish, except a license of course.
